Who wants to get Lost in Space with us? On Thursday, June 18, 2015, Lost Lit is proud to present a special Literary Reading that takes inspiration from the current Grumpy Bert Art Show. Writers will interpret, explore and have creative license with the given theme LOST IN SPACE. Come hear short stories that will have characters traveling through space and time, here on earth.

WRITER BIOS:

ERIKA BARTOLINI is a dog lover and beagle enthusiast living in Brooklyn. She writes fiction and creative non-fiction and is looking forward to some publishing credits in her future.

CHELSEA FONDEN writes poetry, fiction, and all-of-a-sudden non-fiction.  Her work has recently appeared in tNY.Press’theEEEL and online literary ‘zine I Want You To See This Before I Leave. Chelsea runs a creative writing program for teens, and has taught workshops to adults at NYC homeless shelters. She dreams of one day residing in the mountains with a pack of arctic dogs, but for now, lives in Brooklyn, NY.

WYNNE KONTOS is a native Midwesterner and currently a New York City resident. She’s a licensed social worker practicing in the South Bronx and the proud owner of Fezziwig, the cutest Scottish Terrier on the East Coast. Her work is featured in the collection, “Love Sick: Growing Up with a Parent Who Has Cancer” and on the site New York Instant. This is her third reading with Lost Lit. KIM LIAO was a 2010-2011 Taiwan Creative Arts Fulbright Scholar and she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her creative nonfiction has been published or is forthcoming in Another Chicago Magazine, Hippocampus Magazine, Fourth River, and Fringe Magazine, and her book reviews have appeared in Ploughshares and Redivider. She lives in Brooklyn with her pet umbrella tree plant.

LUCAS LOREDO was born and raised in Austin and lives in Brooklyn. His work has been featured by The Wall Street Journal, Time Out New York, theSouthwest Review, Carve Magazine, and others. You can follow him on Twitter@lucasloredo.

NICOLE MAXALI is a San Francisco native that began acting & writing at the age of twelve. Since relocating to New York in 2012, Nicole has performed her various one-woman shows at the famous Joe’s Pub in The Public Theatre, Harvard University and the New York Fringe Festival. SARAH ROSENTHAL works in advertising by day, and writes by night. Her work has appeared in SpliceLit, I Want You to See This Before I Leave Zine, and Outrageous Fortune Magazine. DONNA TALLENT recently wrote a short-form essay about her grandfather that made her grandmother very proud. In high school, Donna wrote poems on gum wrappers and tiny scraps of paper and sent them to her then-boyfriend in the Navy. Now she happily spends her weekends puttering around her Brooklyn apartment with her husband and cat, working on short stories and personal essays. She is somewhat active on Twitter: @linoleumrose.
