CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Opening Night / Reading : 7pm - February 7, 2015
Exhibition : February 7 – 15, 2015
On Saturday, February 7, 2015, in an homage to Valentine's Day, Grumpy Bert & Lost Lit are planning an Art Show & Reading titled Ex.Stories. We want your stories, so we're putting out a special CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!
We're looking for stories about the Ex. Not any Ex., but THE EX. that changed the direction of your life. That made you or shaped you into a different person. That imprinted you in some huge way that no other person has…or will. Accompanied with the written story, please submit a visual inspiration to truly drive the story home. The visual must represent the Ex. story in some way (literally or metaphorically). It can be a photo or illustration. We’re not necessarily looking for self-portraits. For example, if your story involved eating breakfast, submitting a photo of french toast would be perfect. Only one art piece per story. Maximum story length-500 words. Deadline January 25, 2015.
Woo us. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Let your story leave an impression on our hearts even if it's your heart that's broken.
Please provide the following:
- Your Name
- Story title
- Your City and State (Country too if outside of USA)
- Email address
- Short Story – 500 words or less
- Visual inspiration – print quality / hi-res file (at least a minimum of 1500px or 3x5 inches)
- Tell us how you found out about the open call (not required, but would satisfy our curiosity)
Please email your story and art to firstname.lastname@example.org
If selected, Grumpy Bert will contact you via email.
Please note: this is only an exhibition show; no sales of your stories and visuals will be made.
By submitting, you agree to allow your story and art to be publicly displayed at Grumpy Bert and on the internet. Your work maybe used for promotion use and is subject to story and photo editing at the discretion of Grumpy Bert.
If you'd like to participate (meaning actually read your story live) in the opening night reading, a separate submission is required. Please click on the following link for more details:
